The archive referred to in this case is the database of every ‘meaningful’ photograph taken between the year 2010 and 2014. This collection tries to comprehend the messy, non linear way in which everyday life is registered as a photographer. The images cover any kind of photography, from studio work to landscapes, portraits or even accidents.
Once the works are printed on paper, the pages are treated in a bath of pigment. This gives the final result the feeling of it being a recently found collection of very old print work.
The photographs themselves don't try to fool the spectator into thinking they come from a different time. However, the paper, the print, and the use of color do. This clash in times refers to how we look at the lives of people in the past in relationship with ours. By taking a hold on a constructed nostalgia, it both demystifies the past, and it mystifies the present.
